Trygga Familjehem i Sverige AB is now looking for families/individuals who want to help children & youth aged 0-20 years. We are seeking both foster homes and emergency homes.

Being an emergency home or foster home.

Being a foster home is interesting, challenging, and above all rewarding! It is about opening the doors to your home, your family, your daily life, and offering safety, guidelines, rules, and above all, a lot of joy and heart, as well as a desire to share your life.

This certainly presents a significant challenge and requires a clear ambition to succeed. This ambition must be shared by all family members, and a common understanding of what the task entails is of great importance. It is of course true that everyone is affected by a new individual moving in and becoming part of the family. Note that even a single person can be an emergency or foster home.

The most important thing is that you have a genuine interest in helping a child/youth to a better life. You must also be able to collaborate with all parties involved with the placed child/youth, such as schools, social workers, foster care consultants, etc.

To manage a placement, you need to have a little extra of everything; space, time, and ability! Our requirements for you to start a foster home assessment include:

• You must be 25 years or older
• You must not have any criminal record, nor be listed in the social insurance agency's register regarding long-term sickness, the enforcement authority's register, or the social register in the last five years
• There must be a free bedroom available for the placed child, without any family member having to give up their own bedroom. Please note that common areas do not count as bedrooms.
• Your residence must be permanent, meaning you do not rent second-hand, are a lodger, or similar. The accommodation must be fully furnished and cozy.
• You must be fully healthy and able to work
• You must have a stable income and livelihood
• At least one of you must have time for meetings with social services and us foster care consultants
• You must not have any major upcoming life changes, such as moving, long trips, new studies, pregnancy, or similar
• You must be proficient in the Swedish language

Trygga Familjehem supports, guides, and educates

As a foster home, you will receive Trygga Familjehem's basic training for foster homes. The purpose is to make the placement as good as possible for both the placed individual and the foster home. Our consultants are always close at hand for ongoing guidance and training for the family during the placement. Your foster care consultant will visit you regularly, and you will have close cooperation in everything concerning the placed individual, such as implementation plans and contacts with authorities. You will have 24/7 support by phone for any questions you may have. Trygga Familjehem's working methods and approach are to be available, provide support, help, ideas, and motivation!

Good financial compensation

Opening your home to a child, youth, or young adult is not about money, but about helping someone who needs a safe and stable environment. However, you should still receive solid compensation for the work you do.

The compensation is paid in two parts: a cost reimbursement of about 5500 SEK/month to cover food, clothing, travel, etc., and a fee for the work you perform.

The fee varies from 20,000 SEK/month and upwards depending on the complexity of the placement.
